Five years in TN?!?!! Well that went fast.
Every time a kiddo turns five I celebrate that they’re a whole hand. All five fingers, I know, technically 4 fingers and 1 thumb, but a whole hand. And then I high-five them because it just makes sense and it’s fun!
Our kids were 14 and 17 when we took them away from Oregon, where they were born and raised. We knew they were at tender ages and we ran the risk of disaster. But we also knew that it was what we were supposed to do. And so we leapt in faith.
I’ll admit – the first couple years here in TN were tough. Real tough. But we have found our groove and our people. We have found ourselves. We have each found our purpose for this season. And while the road to this revelation has been rocky, full of highs and lows, celebrations and disappointments… every step has been worth it.
And so we celebrate today. Because every day is worth celebrating when you’ve been blessed to live it!
We don’t know what the future holds – no one does – but our family knows who holds the future. And that isn’t just a cheesy cliche for us – Trust me… we’ve leaned into it a lot lately.
All this to say – I don’t know where you are today or what you’re facing – but if you are reading these words then you’ve come this far. You are here, you are alive, you are present, you are still needed and you have a purpose.
Celebrate your day today. High-five yourself! This is your day, friend! Live it well!
