Holy Mud Bath

Just a quick note of encouragement from a passage that has pulled me out of many ruts…

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?”

“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen through him…” John 9: 1-3 NLT

Jesus goes on to heal him by putting mud on the blind man’s eyes because he’s Jesus and he can do whatever he wants. The healed man begins telling everyone of this miracle. Though he definitely was met with some opposition. I encourage you to read the whole chapter today, but this man’s disease had been healed and it brought attention to God. His blindness served a purpose.

Are you feeling like you’re in a rut today? Are you angry at an ailment and feeling like you’re being punished with it? Do you question if your life has purpose?

Make no mistake, your life has purpose. Your seasons, whether high or low, have purpose in them. God is in all the details, even when we struggle to feel Him… He is there.

Think about how many times you’ve come through a tough season, even though you believed you’d never ever get through it and then, there you are, standing on the other side. That’s a holy mud bath moment.

Even when there is no healing in sight – God is still allowing and walking you through your trial for His glory and for your good and for your growth. And who of us doesn’t want to grow in our maturity, discipline, spirituality, strength, faith, trust? I know I do.

So lets look for those holy mud baths today and remember that those are moments we’re being touched by God for a greater good!

Be blessed today!
