You spend weeks amping up for Christmas, and some of you super committed ones spend months, then in a blink it’s all over. Christmas morning arrives with all the built up excitement at its peak! The first present is torn into, then the second, third, and so on and so on. Next thing you know, eight minutes have passed, everyone has fled the room with their loot, and you’re left sitting in a pile of coordinating shredded Christmas wrapping paper that doesn’t look quite as pretty as it did just a few moments before.
And you’re perfectly okay with it. Because you know that what just took place will stay in the memory bank of your loved ones forever. And nothing brings you more joy than knowing your people are together and happy… All at the same time!!!
So, what now? Well, it’s New Year’s resolution time!
Honestly now, did you just cringe? Because I just did. I mean, New Year’s resolutions always start off with a bang and end with a dang.
I’ve never been a fan of them, personally. I love that my church, Cross Point, is starting a series in January called “I Quit”. Yup… Quitting something in place of adding something. I’m pretty excited for this series!
So I ask you… If you could pick one thing to quit in this coming year, think hard – think of things that hold you back or are a negative in your life – what would it be?
Me? I would quit over-scheduling myself. AKA: Saying yes to everything.
