What If?

“You’ve just gotta choose.”
Is anyone tired of hearing this yet? Choose, choose, choose.

When you are up to your box-dyed hair in emotional pain, the last thing you want to hear is, “You just have to choose to dig out of this.” I mean, that kind of talk gets fists flying.

How ’bout I choose not to hear you?

But darn-it-all-to-heck that is some good advice. The choose part.

How often do we wait? We wait on circumstances to change. We wait on people to change. We wait for the perfect time. We wait for the apology. We wait for the handout. We wait. We wait. We wait.

All the while, we waste.

What if it is you that can change the circumstance? What if you blessed and released that person who refuses to change? What if you created the perfect time? What if you forgave without the apology? What if you worked for it instead of feeling entitled to it?

What if you stopped waiting and started choosing?

  • Having the freedom to “Choose” is a blessing and gift in disguise. It took me a very long time to realize that and I pray others who haven’t realized it do.
